Creative Whispers is the first of a series of collaborative projects being undertaken by CRITgroup. The basic premise is that each collaborator produced ‘a thing’ (this could have been a physical object or just an idea recorded in a written/sketched fashion) which they felt somehow represented their practice. These were brought along to the Christmas Party on December 19th 2012, pooled and then shared out at random. The task facing the recipient being to take that outcome away, respond to it in some way and bring it back to the January meeting to pass on to a new collaborator. This process will repeat until everyone has had some input on each starting point, with the intention of using them to drive future discussions.
The following images are my response to the final piece I have been given which was a series of photographs dried flowers and broken glass. This led me to consider the contrast between weakness or fragility and percieved strength and I considered the saying attributed to Confusious;
"The green reed that bends in the wind is stronger than the oak which breaks in the storm."
