Earth Heart will fund itself as glamping accommodation in a beautiful area, popular with holidaymakers, but ultimately it’ll be a space for local community groups, artists, healers and teachers to access by donation. The Earth Heart project is about placemaking. We're both artists, naturally sensitive to the world around us and we're committed to living our lives in a way that embodies the values of care and respect for the environment. We want to share that vision and empower people to weave their own lives of creativity, health and healing, connected to other, like minded souls in a beautiful, loved and cared for place.

We want to erect a traditional, sustainably built yurt on a plot of land attached to our cottage and fit the infrastructure to make this a comfortable, eco-friendly space for a variety of uses, right throughout the year. We plan to use solar power and install a step-free compost loo and shower. Our garden will supply home grown, organic fruits and veggies for self-catering glampers and we'll also offer nutritious, vegan meals from our own home kitchen. Earth Hearth will be a beautiful, nourishing place to visit so we want it to be widely accessible and easily affordable. Going forward we'll set up a bursary scheme to support people who would be otherwise unable to afford to come and spend time in the countryside.

Earth Heart isn't just veg gardens and eco camping...
It’s important to us that the Earth Heart space is multi-functional and locally used. When the yurt is not being used as glamping accommodation to fund the administration and maintenance of the project, it will be available for community use. Artists, musicians, writers, workshop leaders, holistic healers, body work practitioners, meditation teachers and more would be invited to book the space by donation. We'd like to welcome:
- Annabeth has a background in visual arts and performance with over 10 years of teaching experience before moving to live and teach in Buddhist communities in India and the UK. She was a member of the Taraloka Retreat Centre residential community for 6 years as Bookkeeper and Kitchen Manager. She's regularly worked on teams to create ritual events that span both Buddhist and Pagan practices and offers intuitive holistic healing as well as meditation and mindfulness guidance.
- Nik has been creating and installing natural environments in the film industry for over 25 years and now runs his own business in the field. He is also a dedicated no-dig, organic grower. An experienced musician and performer, he has a background in jazz bass but has also lived in India and studies and teaches the sitar, which is now his main focus and passion.
As we embark upon this Earth Heart journey, our goal is to create a place where life is lived in line with the natural law, inspiring and empowering others by offering a space to spend time close to nature, nourishing body, mind and soul, connecting to the real, recalibrating, learning, sharing, growing and recovering, far from the pressures of the urban grind.
So far, we’ve been busy on practical things like clearing the land, preparing to accommodate the catering provision and researching how to build compost toilets! We've also been engaging in administration, looking in to licensing and getting the planning application underway at the same time as keeping our creativity alive and refining our existing skills in the garden and kitchen!
Between us, we’ve got so much to share but to take the next step in realising the vision, we need the money!
We're beginning to budget for funding a costly planning application process alongside our living costs; can you help us to raise the cost of the yurt, the furnishings and the infrastructure to make the site safe, functional and widely accessible when we get the go ahead?
