Chocothapy
Drown out, indulge, allow and escape
From the daily battering of scuff and scrape;
Just slip inside a caramel cup
When you need a little ‘pick me up’
Relax, submerge, dissolve and melt
Forget about the way you felt
In the most acerbic hour of day
When ne’er a thing would go your way.
Trust the instincts of your tongue,
Move beyond, become unhung
And turn to cocoa to escape the heat;
Permit yourself to comfort eat.
Soft and warm and sweet and calm,
Suspended safe from fear or harm
In silky depths of coffee crème
Or wrapped in a strawberry truffle dream.
The stings of hurt can’t penetrate
When submitted to centres so aerate
And nestling in a chocolate bubble
Forgetting every worldly trouble.
Just leave me with this chocolate fudge
Risen above the grind and trudge;
I’ve finally found I can be free
When engaged in chocolate therapy.
