Repotting the Plant
I think it is time to re pot this plant
The roots are incredibly cramped
And lately it hasn't grown up one more inch
No matter how much it's been damped.
The leaves have got greener since feeding
But that was a fortnight ago
And I think if that's all that it needed,
By now I would probably know.
It's not that I'm wanting a forest
Or an orchard that's bursting with fruit,
But it seems that there's wasted potential,
Behind every possible shoot
That hasn't the 'oopmh' to get going
In this stagnant botanical state
So I might have to get out my trowel now
And give up with trusting to fate.
I'm sure if I have a quick rummage
I'll find it a pot for its needs.
Who knows? It may grow as much as
a bloom that provides some new seeds!
There's one thing I know that is certain,
As it is, it is not doing much
so the time it has come for some action
And using my green-fingered touch.
The vessel may not be lots bigger
But I'll toss out old compost for new
And I'll sit it just nearer the window
To give it an enlightened view.
Some fresh air and sunlight will do it
What it's missed, it may not even know
But think that these are the changes
To encourage the blighter to grow!
