As part of on-going relations with Tameside College in Greater Manchester, a group of staff and students from Hangzhou Jiangbin Vocational School made a visit to the United Kingdom in April 2013. As well as visiting Tameside College and York St John University for educational purposes, cultural exchange was also an important part of the visit and the PlaceMaking workshop was offered to them as a way of exploring and sharing their responses to the UK cities they visited. Special versions of the PlaceMaking boards were made available in Mandarin, though some English was also used. These photographs aim to extend the project work by further highlighting the importance of cultural as well as geographical differences in responding to our environments. You can read more about the project on the Critical Documentation page
