After PlaceMaking workshops in the UK with a group of staff and students from Hangzhou Jiangbin Vocational School in April 2013, a recent visit to Dalian in the PRC became an excellent opportunity for a group of younger Chinese students of English First to explore and share perspectives of their local area. Special versions of the PlaceMaking boards were made available in Mandarin, though English was also utilised. These photographs aim to further extend recent project work by moving beyond the UK, questioning the importance of cultural as well as geographical differences in responding to our environments.
