There was a moment of uncertainty when I woke up this morning and the sun was merrily bouncing off the Arndale Centre; To Park Run or not to Park Run? On the one hand, it would be good to get out and join in... on the other hand, I had those phantom re-scheduled hill reps hanging heavy on my conscience! As I do also have other things in my life (In this case some illustration work I am currently completing) I decided the most time-efficient option would also be the less self indulgent one and that I should head into the gym a little later to avail myself of the tread-mill facilities and the nice, even inclines that come with it. That also meant I could squeeze in an hour of drawing before heading out and would encourage me to complete an over due session of my least favourite part of training; the dreaded conditioning and strength programme!
At ten to nine, when the heavens opened, I felt rather smug, especially for having snuck in a sunny run last night; that decision certainly paid off! I have it on good authority that it was in fact so wet at park Run that at least one runner got mud... in his ears!
So, all's well that ends well! June 7th; hill reps completed, strength exercises performed, clean ears maintained! Clean ears that finally tested out my new Monster iSport Strive headphones! So far, so good, they didn't fall out once! The iPod shuffle was surprisingly easy to skip tracks whilst running as well (it turns out that Rammestein is pretty good for hill reps but Vaughan Williams, less so). An awesome prize, thank you Runner's World!
