Feeling a little low energy this afternoon wasn't even my primary reason for sacking off the planned treadmill hill reps session in favour of a gentle one along the canal... Actually it was more weather based decision; It was such a lovely evening, why on earth would I want to consign myself to a dingy basement gym (I love my gym actually but it is in a basement) when I could run free outside with the sun on my face? Yes, OK, I could do hill reps outside on an actual hill (and I did go harder up the bridges over the canal arms) but I like to do a 'serious' training session like that on the treadmill as I can control the incline precisely and keep closer check on my speed and the length of each rep.
Ah whatever; it's not like I haven;t deviated from the plan this week anyway really what with races on rest days and 8 mile runs when I was supposed to be cross training! I'll do the hardcore incline session tomorrow probably, when it's raining! (unless the forecast is wrong and I get tempted along to South Manchester ParkRun!)
I ain't a slave to no training plan!
