June(!?)athon Begins...!

cycle to work
Morning commute! (I'll spare you the homeward path!)
I realised this morning on a rather blustery, autumnal cycle to work... wait. Autumnal!? It's JUNE! The long awaited joys of Birthday Month have arrived and with it the annual Juneathon!

I can't believe how slow off the mark I was in completely forgetting it was coming up but, just in time, here I am! Given a rather hectic month in the making, and my determination to overcome ITB injury (read more on both of those in yesterday's post if you are so inclined!)  I'll be honest straight up that I don't fully commit to run or blog every single day. However, some form of physical activity is certainly not beyond me and I'm happy to back date posts or summarise a week. Given the fairly relaxed 'rules' (or guidelines) of the initiative I don't believe this will cause a major scandal.
I am currently practising to pace the 4:45 target group at the Liverpool Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in less than a fortnight and learning to go slower than I might normally has been a little challenging. My efforts have been helped by injury however (talk about finding a silver lining!) and squeezing in 5 treadmill miles kinda roughly on pace (it must've been speeding; I believe 10:52 minute miles is the sweet spot) between cycling home from work and Monday night yoga felt like a not insignificant achievement! I still need to slow down a touch. but I'm getting there!

Roll on the Liverpool Rockin'!

(seriously hope the weather picks up!!)

Good luck! I've just started Juneathon too. I'm not running though, I'm doing a mix of other stuff. Kind of glad of it when you look at the weather.

Good Luck Joanne! Definitely worth staying indoors when it's this manky! Getting better though according to the forecast! :-)
