I'd have been well justified in a runstreak-minimum mile (Yes, Tuesday scuppered the runstreak proper but I don't see that as a reason to give up entirely!) on the treadmill this morning but the day was crisp if not bright, so I took myself off on a 4-anna-bit mile recovery run down the canal instead. So much more enjoyable to get a couple of lungs full of fresh air whilst visiting my heron buddies as they fish for breakfast than subjecting myself to the sweaty gym air con whilst staring at the back of another weary treadmill pounder's head!
That being done, a busy last day of term trip followed before jumping in a friend's car and off to Worksop the night before the Runner's World Clumber Park Trailblazer 10k in the morning!

Finally getting to take my Salomon XT Hornets out on a real trail instead of a tow path! It'll be my first trail race so I'm not sure exactly what to expect but I'm pretty excited! We're also very close to Sherwood Forest so I might have to find a bow and arrow and go all outlaw! (Not the Ironman Triathlon kind though!) It's damp out tonight so I expect a pretty muddy run tomorrow though this doesn't bother me as we've arranged with the B&B that we can come back after the race and use their spa! Sounds good to me! Well, I can't say I feel much like going to bed but I'd best try and get some rest so I can make the most of tomorrow... whatever happens in it! |
